Vacations Doris A. Davis Vacations Cruises appeal to many travelers because they are considered all-inclusive vacations. Pay one price and receive accommodations, meals, entertainment, and transportation between island and port destinations. But once onboard, many cruisers find themselves shelling out hundreds of additional dollars for shore excursions, alcoholic beverages, and gratuities. What happened to their supposedly all-inclusive vacation? Many land-based resorts also refer to themselves as all-inclusive, yet [the properties offer a different set of included amenities. As I look at the picture my mind can imagine exactly what my experience would be. So what does it really mean to be all-inclusive? I have compared the pictures†¦show more content†¦Adventure is limited to basketball, shuffleboard or the all access ship pool. Cruise ships look boring and a person would float along. The land base resorts are not bound by the imagination of the cruise director. Patrons of resorts can plan (with the help of a concierge) the ultimate vacation based on their individual preferences. You can hand pick your own adventure from island exploration, deep-sea fishing, catamaran sails, guided island tours, mountain biking, dune buggy off-roading excursions, dolphin encounters, scuba diving, horseback riding and more. The choices are endless and some are included in the package. The not- so-adventurous can take relaxing strolls alone the beach, play volleyball, paddle boat, surf or other less strenuous activities. As for night life, patrons can choose to party on the resort, attend All-White parties, talent shows, beach parties, bonfires or listen to live bands. The more daring could party with the locals to experience rich, authentic Caribbean culture first hand. All-inclusive, whether land resort or cruises, are the preferred way to vacation and provide a great value for the cost. Depending on the client’s budget and time constraints, cruises are wonderful getaways but land resorts offer greater variety and excitement. The decision depends on rather a person loves land or water.
